Neighborhood Tree Planting Program

Published: December 17, 2024

After a year of being waitlisted for FREE trees, the Neighborhood Tree Planting Program is back in Eagle Ranch!

“The Neighborhood Tree Planting Program, operated by the City of Fort Worth Forestry Section, helps to reduce summer temperatures and storm water runoff, improve air quality, beautify neighborhoods and increase property values. The program provides free 5-gallon trees to be planted within the parkway or 20’ of the edge of the roadway, whichever is greater. All participants need to do is plant the trees and water the newly planted street trees until established.”

The choice of trees from Fort Worth Forestry this year are:

Bur Oak, Cedar Elm, Chinquapin Oak, Eve's Necklace, Indian Cherry (Carolina Buckthorn), Lacey Oak, Live Oak, Red Oak, Mexican White Oak.

The deadline to sign up is November 1, 2024. All trees for the program will be delivered on November 22 to a central location within Eagle Ranch and Katie Jacobs will contact you to coordinate the pick-up/distribution of your allotted tree(s).
